My article in Marianne: Yes, we can criticise Silicon Valley!
I published an op-ed in Marianne arguing for the legitimacy of criticising Silicon Valley, at a time when the prevailing discourse treated digital innovation as an unquestionable horizon.
The article points to monopolistic practices, aggressive tax avoidance and the growing concentration of economic and political power in the hands of a few American giants. Against the sometimes unconditional fascination with the Californian tech ecosystem, the text argues that democracy has the right — and the duty — to scrutinise the models reshaping our societies. It naturally complements earlier work on free software and digital sovereignty.
