I published an analysis in Revue Conflits on Taiwan’s energy vulnerability — an equation that places the island at the crossroads of geopolitics, technology and national security.

Taiwan imports 97% of its primary energy. This structural dependence is both a strategic Achilles heel and a driver of energy transition. The article examines the constraints around LNG — only a few days of reserves in the event of a blockade —, the trade-offs over nuclear power, the enormous energy consumption of TSMC and semiconductor fabs, and the real but insufficient progress on renewables. Taiwan is caught in a vice between inherited fossil dependence and urgent modernisation, in a geopolitical context where energy has become a weapon.
